FINANCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY

How the Funds Were Used

UA Legacy Grants raised $20,000 to provide 200 clean water filtration systems to families and communities in Kakuma Refugee Camp, Kenya. Funding supported the complete deployment process—not simply the purchase of filters.

Approximately $10,000 (50%)

Filtration Systems

Purchase of 200 filtration systems at an average cost of approximately $50 each, including applicable international fees, taxes, and related costs.

Approximately $10,000 (50%)

Deployment, Training, Oversight & Operations

The remaining funding supported international shipping, local transportation and distribution; recipient training in proper use, maintenance and backwashing; compensation and operating support for the local Oversight Director and deployment team; and project coordination, documentation, administration and organizational sustainability.

Our Financial Commitment

UA Legacy Grants is committed to responsible stewardship, with a goal of keeping general organizational operating costs at 30% or less of total funding. Direct project costs—including shipping, distribution, local oversight and training—are distinguished from general organizational administration.

The allocations above are approximate. The 30% figure is an organizational goal, not a statement of audited operating costs.

RESULTS & IMPACT

200 Systems. A Foundation for Lasting Change.

Up to 150 gallons

daily per system

Each system can produce up to 150 gallons of safer, cleaner water daily and potentially serve up to 300 people, depending on actual use and local conditions. This deployment supports the larger goal of 1,000 systems in Kakuma and a repeatable model for other communities.

System capacity describes potential, not measured daily production or verified numbers of people served.

FUTURE PLANS

A Mission for Generations

Beginning with Kakuma, and expanding into Uganda, Burundi, and ultimately communities around the world, we intend to build a sustainable, repeatable system that empowers local leaders, mobilizes global partners, and delivers safe drinking water quickly and affordably.

Our ambition is to reach one million people, then five million, ten million, and ultimately tens of millions of lives. These are long-term aspirations—not results achieved to date.

“No family should have to suffer simply because they lack safe drinking water.”

Leave a Legacy. Change a Life.
